Open-Source Intelligence Researcher

About the Role

Control Risks is seeking a dedicated Open-Source Intelligence Researcher to support a complex threat intelligence program. This role is crucial in identifying and analyzing potential threats and negative discourse surrounding our clients.

Role Tasks and Responsibilities

Research and Information Gathering

• Conduct comprehensive research across multiple platforms to identify potential threats and discourse impacting clients.
• Identify existing and emerging trends in negative online chatter related to clients.
• Gather intelligence on individuals and groups posing threats to clients and their assets through open-source, social media, and deep/dark web research.
• Perform research on specific topics to contribute to bespoke threat assessments as tasked.
• Discover new information sources and develop capabilities for collecting and analyzing data to support the team's mission.

Consulting Responsibilities

• Deliver clear, concise written analysis to produce high-quality, bespoke threat assessments.
• Communicate effectively to conduct peer reviews of intelligence outputs, enhancing the quality of final deliverables.
• Apply practical knowledge of open-source intelligence collection and threat analysis.
• Prepare concise written reports with meticulous attention to detail.
• Demonstrate experience in directing, collecting, and analyzing information, including following leads, to produce timely and actionable intelligence.
• Possess practical knowledge of the deep and dark web threat landscape (preferable).
• Additional languages, particularly Spanish and Portuguese, are a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

• The base salary range for this position is $72,000-$80,000 per year. Exact compensation offered may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
