You'll be instrumental in defining the product's creative direction, design language, and culture, making it an exciting prospect for designers who want significant impact, autonomy, and the chance to work closely with product and engineering in a fast-paced startup environment.

About the Role

As the second Product Designer at Pogo, you will play a pivotal role in leading the product design and creative direction for our new consumer insights product. This platform connects brands and retailers with purchase-verified consumers and is designed for use by major global companies. You will also contribute to our consumer app, which already boasts 3 million users and is growing. This position offers the chance to shape significant product experiences from inception through iteration.

Responsibilities

  • Design core product experiences end-to-end, from initial exploration through launch and ongoing iteration for both the B2B platform and the consumer app.
  • Create polished and engaging interfaces that build user trust and effectively communicate the value of our data and AI technology.
  • Pay meticulous attention to detail in layout, typography, spacing, color, motion, and interactions.
  • Contribute to defining the product roadmap and establishing the foundations for our design language, systems, and culture.
  • Employ creative strategies to deliver high-quality work within a fast-paced and often ambiguous startup environment.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and Go-To-Market (GTM) teams as one of two designers.

Compensation

  • Pogo offers above-market salaries and equity to attract top talent.

About You

  • Experience designing software products, with a bonus for experience at startups or designing AI interactions.
  • Bonus for experience designing enterprise-grade products.
  • Proficiency in Figma, with the ability to design quickly and efficiently, making pragmatic tradeoffs when necessary while maintaining a strong design vision.
  • A deep passion for design, with a high standard for quality and a keen eye for exceptional products and designers. Actively seeks inspiration from various sources.
  • Actively uses LLMs (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) in your design workflow.
  • Relentless in pursuing optimal solutions, willing to explore, iterate, and discard work to improve the product.
  • A full-stack designer capable of end-to-end experience design and cross-functional collaboration with product and engineering.
  • Strong product intuition, with a knack for creating simple and clear experiences, while remaining open to iteration based on user data.

Why You Might Be Excited About This Opportunity

  • Collaborative Environment: Be surrounded by strong product thinkers across engineering, customer support, and leadership.

Why You Might Not Be Excited About Us

  • Shifting Priorities: Be prepared for priorities to change rapidly as the team tackles ambiguous problems and embraces experimentation.
  • Lean Team Structure: Work as one of two designers, requiring independence and energy for learning and operating within small teams, without extensive design management overhead.
  • Rapid Iteration: Embrace the value of "Calculated Speed," shipping weekly and iterating quickly, with designs potentially going into development the following week.
