Team Mission
The Central Services group is a strategic unit within Growth, responsible for foundational platform capabilities that drive GetYourGuide's global operations and customer experience. Our team, Communications Platform, is tasked with developing and maintaining the centralized communication infrastructure, ensuring seamless delivery of critical customer interactions across email, push notifications, SMS, and emerging channels. We own the technical foundation for all customer communications, enabling scalable and engaging experiences worldwide.
Your Mission:
- Collaborate within a cross-functional mission team of highly skilled engineers.
- Continuously improve our codebase, systems, and development processes.
- Design and develop efficient, scalable solutions.
- Enable rapid iteration and customer learning by designing, launching, and iterating on A/B experiments and internal solutions.
Your Toolkit:
- 6+ years of software development experience.
- High proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience designing architecture and deploying web applications & services.
- Experience with distributed systems and asynchronous messaging.
- Experience operating at scale, managing CI/CD pipelines, and a cloud DevOps/infrastructure mindset.
- Experience with stakeholder management, technical leadership, and cross-team collaboration.
- Ability to translate ideas into fast, reliable, and maintainable code.
- A positive, proactive team player passionate about software engineering.
- Customer-centric prioritization and data-driven decision-making.
- Hands-on experience experimenting with and leveraging AI.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

- Experience developing internal SDKs, libraries, API documentation, and developer tooling.
- Familiarity with communication platforms and services (e.g., Sendgrid, Twilio, Postmark, Braze).
- Experience with GraphQL ecosystems.
- Experience with SLO/SLA management and Platform Reliability.
- Experience with security and scalability of asynchronous flows.
- Experience migrating monolithic applications to a service-oriented architecture.
- Experience with A/B testing, hypothesis building, and event-based analytics.
- Prior experience in e-commerce or start-up environments.
