Analytics Engineer, Music Mission
Join Spotify's Music Mission team, dedicated to empowering music creators and enhancing fan experiences. This role is crucial in shaping how we measure success, by building robust data foundations, measurement frameworks, and analytics products that translate complex datasets into actionable insights. You will collaborate closely with engineers, data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to ensure data-informed decision-making that benefits creators and fans globally.
About the Team
The Music Mission team owns Spotify’s end-to-end proposition for music creators and their fan experiences. We build tools and services that enable creation, promotion, expression, and monetization at scale. Our suite of products, including Discovery Mode, Marquee, Showcase, Music Videos, Clips, Listening Parties, and Concert Listings, helps artists grow, engage, and monetize their fan bases.
What You’ll Do
- Construct and maintain scalable data models and pipelines utilizing dbt and BigQuery.
- Develop comprehensive measurement frameworks, dashboards, and self-service analytics solutions to guide product strategy.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to define key metrics and enhance product performance understanding.
- Translate business inquiries into reliable, well-modeled datasets and insightful, actionable recommendations.
- Enhance data quality, observability, documentation, and governance across the Music Mission.
- Contribute to responsible AI practices, ensuring data and insights are trustworthy, transparent, and scalable.
- Participate in a support rotation for critical datasets and analytics products.
Who You Are
- Experienced in analytics engineering, data engineering, business intelligence, or a similar analytical role.
- Proficient in SQL and experienced in building data models with dbt.
- Skilled with cloud data platforms such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift.
- Comfortable using Python and modern data orchestration tools for analytics workflows.
- Possess a strong understanding of instrumentation, data quality, and scalable measurement practices.
- Experienced in building dashboards and enabling self-service analytics capabilities.
- Excellent communicator and collaborator, adept at problem-solving within cross-functional teams.
- Curious about AI and emerging technologies, with a thoughtful approach to their responsible application.

- This role is based in New York, NY.
- We offer flexibility with a hybrid work model, allowing for both in-office collaboration and remote work.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range (US): $116,994 - $167,135 USD, plus equity.
- Benefits: Health insurance, six-month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, paid flexible holidays, and paid sick leave.
