The Role: Lead BI Developer
Launch Potato seeks a Lead BI Developer to own the reporting infrastructure that drives decision-making across our Credit Cards, Make Money/Manage Money, Banking, and Marketplace verticals. This role offers a clear growth path into becoming a proactive analytical partner, helping the team anticipate future needs. You will be embedded with the business, partnering closely with Yield, Paid Media, and Account Management teams to uncover trends, conduct retrospective analyses, and challenge existing assumptions with data-driven insights. This is not a passive dashboard-building role; it's for someone deeply invested in the utilization, understanding, and actionability of their work.
Key Responsibilities & Outcomes
30 Days In:
- Actively engage with stakeholders to audit current reporting consumption, identify discrepancies, redundancies, and inconsistencies.
- Begin developing a roadmap to standardize reporting across your assigned verticals.
60 Days In:
- Articulate how assigned verticals generate revenue and identify key performance levers.
- Actively improve dashboard standardization while accurately executing ad hoc requests with business context.
90 Days In:
- Initiate dashboard standardization execution and establish a roadmap for developing trusted data sources.
- Begin making changes to the LookML structure with full awareness of downstream impacts.
- Establish working relationships with Yield, Paid Media, and Account Management teams.
6 Months In:
- Build trust with the business team through education, best practices, and a standardized reporting suite for confident self-service analytics.
- Deliver proactive retrospective analyses on experiments, creatives, offers, seasonality, and CAC performance.
- Gain a strong understanding of full-funnel metrics supporting each team.
Year 1:
- Become the trusted technical owner for assigned verticals, managing the process from raw data ingestion to final dashboard.
- Complete reporting standardization, consistently deliver retrospective analyses, and be recognized as a go-to analytical partner who recommends action.

- Performance Marketing Optimization: Connect data directly to business drivers like campaign performance, conversion rates, and revenue per session.
- Advanced LookML Development (or Power BI/Tableau equivalent): Architect complex models with a full understanding of downstream consequences.
- Curiosity & Business Depth: Prioritize asking questions and deepening business knowledge to become a trusted analytical partner.
Experience Required
Minimum 7 years in business intelligence or analytics, with direct experience in performance or affiliate marketing. Preference for candidates who have owned reporting end-to-end (pipeline to dashboard), worked with complex, third-party data, and partnered closely with business teams to uncover trends, conduct analyses, and link data work to business decisions.
Total Compensation
- Base Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, paid semi-monthly.
- Additional Compensation: Profit-sharing bonus.
