About the Role

As the Customer Development Manager for Wakefern, you will be responsible for delivering sales objectives, managing spending, and ensuring retail execution excellence. You will develop and execute strategic plans to maximize volume, profitability, and customer service, with direct oversight of the business's Profit & Loss (P&L). This role offers the chance to collaborate with direct reports and cross-functional partners to implement account strategies, champion win-win solutions, and leverage consumer insights to drive growth and strengthen customer investment strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for products and programs, developing customer marketing strategies informed by consumer insights and competitor analysis.
  • Create promotional strategies designed for mutual success.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with direct reports, cross-functional teams, brokers, and the customer retail team, fostering trust and integrity.
  • Coach and develop junior talent, demonstrating a key interest in team leadership.
  • Influence internal and external partners through collaboration, negotiation, and thought leadership.
  • Seek creative solutions and adapt strategies based on pre- and post-evaluation analyses and ROI, incorporating learnings into future plans.
  • Analyze business trends within each account, including brand share, pricing, promotion levels, and trade class development, to understand investment lever effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4+ years in sales roles or adjacent experiences
  • Experience working with a syndicated service (Nielsen, IRI)
  • Previous people leadership experience, including leading teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in consumer product goods
  • Direct previous experience working with Wakefern/ShopRite
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs)

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $86,000.00 - $137,000.00 USD (Pay determined by experience, qualifications, and location)
  • Potential Bonuses: Discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives (for Executive-level roles).
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package: Includes medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and 401(k) with company match (subject to eligibility).
  • Paid Time Off: Minimum 15 vacation/PTO days, prorated based on hire date. 13 paid holidays.
  • Paid Sick Leave: Adjusted based on role and location, in accordance with local laws.
