Must-Haves:

  • Expert SQL & Comfortable with Unstructured Complex Data: Ability to extract accurate insights from raw, unstructured data without relying on pre-built models.
  • Reporting Ownership & Data Literacy: Capable of building, standardizing, driving adoption, and enhancing data literacy across teams.

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years in business intelligence or analytics with direct exposure to performance or affiliate marketing.
  • Proven track record of owning reporting end-to-end (pipeline to dashboard), working with messy, complex, third-party data, and partnering closely with business teams to uncover trends, conduct analyses, and connect data work to business decisions.

Your Role

Launch Potato is seeking a Lead BI Developer to own the reporting infrastructure that empowers decision-making across our Credit Cards, Make Money/Manage Money, Banking, and Marketplace verticals. This role offers a clear growth path into becoming a proactive analytical partner who anticipates business needs. You will be embedded with the business from day one, partnering closely with Yield, Paid Media, and Account Management teams to uncover trends, analyze experiments, creatives, offers, seasonality, and CAC performance, and challenge the team with novel insights. This is not a role for someone who simply builds dashboards and hands them off; it's for someone deeply invested in the adoption, understanding, and actionability of their work.

Outcomes (Performance Expectations)

  • 30 Days: Actively engaged with stakeholders to audit existing reporting, identify discrepancies, redundancies, and inconsistencies, and begin developing a roadmap for standardization.
  • 60 Days: Articulate how assigned verticals make money and identify key performance levers. Improve dashboard standardization and execute ad hoc requests with accuracy and business context.
  • 90 Days: Dashboard standardization in execution, with a clear roadmap for developing trusted data sources. Understands LookML structure well enough to make changes with awareness of downstream impacts. Established working relationships with key teams.
  • 6 Months: Built trust with business teams through education, best practices, and a standardized reporting suite enabling self-service analytics. Delivering proactive retrospective analyses.
  • Year 1: Trusted technical owner for assigned verticals end-to-end. Reporting standardization complete, retrospective analysis is a consistent output, and positioned as a go-to analytical partner recommending action.

Total Compensation

Base salary is set according to market rates for the nearest major metro and varies based on Launch Potato’s Levels Framework. Your compensation package includes a base salary, profit-sharing bonus, and competitive benefits.
