QA Engineer

About the Role

Workwize is seeking a proficient QA Engineer to significantly enhance the quality of our established Workwize platform. Your primary objective will be to elevate system functionality, collaborate closely with developers, and ensure robust integration testing, contributing to a high-quality, streamlined user experience. This role involves writing automated end-to-end tests using Cypress and Playwright, supporting the maintenance of existing features, and actively contributing to new feature development. You will champion a "shift-left" approach, embedding quality early in the development lifecycle and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Develop a Comprehensive QA Strategy:

• Create, document, and maintain a clear QA strategy aligned with operational goals and the product roadmap.
• Promote a shift-left testing culture, ensuring quality is integrated from the initial design and development stages.
• Collaborate with developers and product owners to ensure consistent application of the strategy across all teams and codebases.

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:

• Work closely with developers throughout the SDLC, providing feedback on testability, code quality, and potential edge cases.
• Support the team in maintaining existing features and ensuring high quality in the development of new features.
• Manage bugs, incidents, and root cause analysis, continuously improving quality practices and testing standards.

Testing and Automation:

• Design, implement, and maintain automated end-to-end and integration tests for Laravel and React applications.
• Develop and manage API test suites to validate backend functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Leverage Cypress and Playwright to automate high-value test scenarios reflecting real-world user behavior.
• Continuously improve and scale the test automation infrastructure to accelerate development workflows and CI/CD pipelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a QA Engineer or Software Tester.
• Automation Testing experience is non-negotiable.
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies and tools.
• Experience with Postman API testing suite, Cypress, and Playwright.
• Familiarity with Javascript and PHP.
• Familiarity with Github Actions and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with AWS services is a plus.

Working Location

• Working hours according to Central European Time (CET).
• Based in Europe or South Africa, and hired remotely unless based in the Netherlands.
