About the Role

We are seeking a brilliant Medical Writer with excellent scientific understanding, the ability to craft compelling scientific narratives, a passion for communications, and outstanding writing skills. Ideal candidates possess a precise attention to detail and excel at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality content for diverse medical communications projects (e.g., extended outlines, manuscript drafts, symposia, advisory boards, training programs, detail aids), demonstrating a strong grasp of the science and data behind client messaging and strategy.
• Develop content with minimal supervision, ensuring it is delivered within budget and on time.
• Utilize client approval systems as required.
• Stay current with developments in assigned therapy areas and the field of medical communications, sharing knowledge with project teams and clients.
• Present work to clients during project calls as needed.
• Attend and report on conferences and external meetings.
• Complete proposal sections independently and present/pitch them.
• Manage day-to-day client communication and relationships related to written work.
• Proactively communicate with clients and internal teams to manage expectations and foresee potential issues, knowing when to escalate or defer.

Qualifications

• An advanced degree in a life sciences field.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects across various therapeutic areas.

Additional Requirements

• A life science graduate (PhD, PharmD, or MD required).
• Previous experience as a medical writer in a healthcare communications agency or similar environment, OR be a recent graduate of an accredited PhD, PharmD, or MD program.
• Outstanding writing, editing, and communication skills with an excellent command of the English language.
• Exceptional attention to detail regarding scientific content and editorial standards.
• Adaptable writing style for different materials and target audiences.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word and PowerPoint).
• Experience with referencing software and database searching is preferable.
