The Role
Join the Civil team within the Road & Rail Business Unit, a collaborative group of around 300 professionals working on large-scale and complex projects for leading clients. This position is based in Poland, with offices in Poznań, Kraków, or Łódź, offering flexibility in location.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare design, construction, and detailed plans for railway civil engineering, road construction, and utility line construction.
- Model infrastructure projects using Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Create and maintain project models and digital terrain models (DTM).
- Plan and design roads, traffic facilities, and utility lines (water, wastewater, gas, district heating, electrical, and telecommunications).
- Develop cross-sections, longitudinal profiles, and standard cross-sections.
- Ensure compliance with standards, guidelines, and quality standards.
- Plan and design railway alignments and track systems.
- Perform quantity take-offs and support with tenders.
- Coordinate with project managers and engineers.
- Participate in BIM projects and data management.
Qualifications
Must-Have:
- Completed training as a drafting technician in civil engineering/civil works, design engineer, or comparable qualification.
- Experience in railway civil engineering, road construction, and/or utility line construction.
- Excellent knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Experience in modeling road and rail structures.
- Proficiency in applying quality standards, settings, and templates.
- Experience in creating utility line models and utility coordination plans.
- Experience in creating axes, gradients, and corridor models.
Good-to-Have:
- Additional training in CAD/BIM.
- Experience with BIM methodologies and the Common Data Environment (CDE).
- Several years of experience in the design of infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of Swiss standards and guidelines (VSS, SIA, railway-specific requirements).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or knowledge of Autodesk Revit.
- Experience working with surveying and GIS data.
- Understanding of construction processes and planning.
- Interest in digital planning methods and BIM.
- A precise, structured, and quality-oriented work style, combined with a strong sense of responsibility, effective communication, independence, and a solution-oriented approach, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
