Job Description: Head of Communications
Our communications department crafts and executes Marie Curie's external communications strategy, embedding our corporate identity and reputation across public, stakeholder, community, and media arenas. As Head of Communications, you will spearhead efforts to grow and position Marie Curie as the definitive expert in end-of-life care, thereby increasing our audience, influence, and overall impact.
Your Impact
- Develop, implement, and manage the external communications strategy in alignment with organizational goals and values.
- Collaborate closely with various directorates and initiatives to ensure cohesive and effective messaging.
- Lead crisis communications efforts, in partnership with the Director Corporate and Strategic Communications and the Head of PR and Media, including developing response plans and key messages.
- Lead, guide, and develop the communications team, fostering a high-performing and supportive environment.
Key Criteria
- Proven experience in a similar role, with a track record of creating and delivering organization-wide communication plans that support business objectives.
- Demonstrated success in leading major communication campaigns, including change communications.
- Experience in managing, leading, and developing a team.
- Experience working within a complex organization, adept at aligning different departments and stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence at all organizational levels.
- Strong project management skills, with expertise in aligning and managing campaigns, projects, and products with organizational objectives.
Additional Information
- Salary: £58,500 - £65,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
- Contract: Full-time, permanent.
- Location: UK homebased. Occasional travel to our headquarters in London will be required.
