About the Role

As a hands-on engineer, you will design and build new features for our flagship SaaS product, modernize legacy systems, and contribute to shaping our future architecture using microservices, REST APIs, SQL, and cloud-native patterns on AWS. You will break down complex problems, run experiments, build Proofs of Concept (POCs), and collaborate closely with product managers to deliver well-tested, elegant solutions. This role involves mentoring team members and taking ownership of your work.

What You'll Do

• Design, code, review, and test new features within our flagship products.
• Deconstruct and refactor legacy software components.
• Participate in large-scale architectural design, run experiments, and create POCs for validation.
• Collaborate with product managers and other teams to define technical requirements and deliver optimized solutions.
• Mentor and support team members.

Essential Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a hands-on development role at a commercial software company.
• Strong experience with SQL / RDBMS.
• Experience with microservices and REST APIs.
• Experience with cloud tools and cloud-native development, preferably AWS.
• A problem-solver attitude with a technology-agnostic approach.
• Proven ability to manage workload, take ownership, and remain proactive.
• Enthusiasm for improving processes and sharing knowledge.

Nice to Have

• Experience with SQL stored procedures.
• Full-stack experience, including NodeJS.
• CI/CD experience, containers, cloud deployments, and GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture.
• Experience with data visualization/reporting tools (e.g., Looker, QuickSight).

Work Model

This role follows a hybrid work model. Employees within commuting distance of a Diligent office location are expected to work onsite at least 50% of the time to foster innovation, teamwork, and community.
