About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Product Safety Engineer with established working knowledge of IEC 62368-1 and/or IEC 61010-1 standards and their associated collateral. This senior role involves supporting other engineers, sales staff, and customers, as well as project scoping and quoting. You will work independently on a variety of products, ensuring compliance with U.S., Canadian, and international product safety standards, writing reports, and communicating effectively with clients.
Responsibilities
- Possess standard knowledge of IEC 62368-1 and/or IEC 61010-1 (IEC 60335-1 is a plus).
- Determine the applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the equipment under test (EUT).
- Test products in accordance with standards and requirements, including but not limited to power input, leakage current, dielectric, temperature, stability, mechanical hazards, flammability, abnormal and single fault, and IP testing.
- Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions.
- Identify and locate necessary test instruments and equipment, and set up test plans.
- Perform preliminary design reviews (PDR) both on and off-site.
- Train and mentor less senior technical staff.
- Support sales in project communication with customers.
- Attend product reviews to provide technical support.
- Answer technical questions.
- Review technical reports and test plans.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications
Minimum Educational Qualifications:
- Four-year college degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 7+ years of product safety experience in Testing, inspections, and certification laboratories, specifically within IEC 62368-1 & IEC 61010-1.
- IEC 60335-1 knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to review projects as a technical reviewer.
- Ability to travel as business needs dictate (up to 20%).
- Ability to travel locally to client sites for testing when needed.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Additional Information
- Position Type: Full-time
- Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, with overtime as needed.
- Location: Santa Clara, CA (Candidates within commutable distance are encouraged to apply).
- Compensation: $125,000 - $147,000
