Reports to: Vice President of Community Philanthropy
Classification: Exempt Full Time

Starting Salary Range: $74,880 - $83,200

About the Role

This position is responsible for providing direction and operational support for The Trevor Project’s annual integrated direct/digital fundraising campaign strategy. You will serve as the primary point of contact for the organization’s fundraising agency/vendors and will have direct responsibility for the implementation of all integrated direct/digital fundraising plans, including oversight and project management of all direct & digital appeals. This role collaborates closely with the Individual Philanthropy, Development Operations, and the Marketing, Communications & Content Teams to ensure alignment with organizational messages, support donor data management, and execute complex fundraising campaigns.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of Community Philanthropy’s integrated fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, email appeals, advertising, search engine marketing, mobile fundraising, and social media fundraising.
  • Develop effective segmentation strategies that utilize integrated direct/digital best practices to enhance donor participation and engagement.
  • Lead project management (using Asana) for integrated direct/digital fundraising campaigns, producing cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship materials such as direct mail pieces, letters, emails, web content, and other media.
  • Manage relationships and projects with vendors, including direct marketing agencies, printers, mail houses, and merge purge services.
  • Demonstrate fair, ethical, and equitable business practices.
  • Embrace continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and improvement.
  • Showcase strong planning and problem-solving skills, including multitasking and working effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all work.

  • Perform other relevant duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of previous direct response marketing experience at an agency, nonprofit, or higher education institution.
  • Deep knowledge of direct response marketing principles and a proven track record in fundraising with individual gifts.
  • Proficiency in:
  • Direct marketing best practices, including A/B testing, developing fundraising tests and controls, and writing/editing fundraising appeals for digital and print.
  • Digital tools such as email marketing and SMS/mobile giving platforms.
  • Data analysis and segmentation development.
  • Google platform tools (Google Docs, Sheets, Presentations).
  • Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for data management.
  • Fundraising software (Salesforce preferred) and understanding of donor acquisition, retention, digital giving, and moves management.
  • Developing HTML/emails and SMS messages in platforms like MailChimp and texting platforms.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
