The Role

This position is part of the general accounting process within the NEC Global Shared Service Centre (GSSC) for all country units. The role requires meticulous attention to detail and a focus on Master Data Management (MDM) tasks to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Role Summary

The individual will be responsible for the gathering, administration, cleansing, and maintenance of master data, including item, vendor, and customer codes, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and adherence to mandatory requirements. This role involves working with internal stakeholders, monitoring and improving data quality, validating entries, participating in system upgrades, and resolving data-related issues.

Job Location & Work Model

  • Locations: Mumbai (Airoli) and Bangalore
  • Initial Work Arrangement: Work from Home during Night Shift (US Shift) as per project needs. Flexibility to travel based on business requirements during this period is necessary. Shift timing may be prepended and will be reviewed post-transition.
  • Future Work Arrangement: Hybrid Work from Office model following transition, in alignment with company guidelines.
  • Working Hours: 8.5 hours per day (US Shift).

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Postgraduate (B. Com / Honours) or a Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience in Master Data Management.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience for graduates, with relevant experience in Master Data Management.
  • Essential Experience: Proven experience in the RTR (Record to Report) process, preferably in a shared service environment managing a team. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and results orientation. Good working knowledge of Finance processes, SAP Finance & relevant modules. RTR process re-engineering and project management skills. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Essential Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Overall Project/Task Description

  • Gathering, administration, and cleansing of master data.
  • Creating/Updating item, vendor, and customer codes as per business team requests and approvals.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to obtain master data information promptly.
  • Maintaining and monitoring master data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Improving data quality by identifying duplicates, inconsistencies, and errors.
  • Validating data accuracy through checks and audits.
  • Participating in system upgrades, testing, and implementation of new data management tools.
  • Investigating and resolving data-related issues.
  • Assisting the tower lead in publishing data reports.
  • Solving routine problems through guidance and established procedures.
  • Performing MDM tasks within defined Turn Around Times (TAT).
  • Ensuring a 100% accuracy rate in daily activities to meet service level agreements.
