Project Manager Senior (Fully Remote, USA)

Job Summary

This role involves managing projects in accordance with established project governance, ensuring goals are accomplished within prescribed timelines and funding parameters. The Senior Project Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate activities for designated IT or Business areas, developing and managing project plans of varying complexity. Key responsibilities include managing work breakdown structures, resource commitments, budgets, risks, and communications, while partnering closely with Project Business Owners and Technical Leads.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multiple medium to high complexity projects simultaneously, maintaining deep engagement across all workstreams and resource pools under PMO management supervision.
• Partner with project business owners and technical leads to define delivery strategy, guide project teams, and ensure stakeholder awareness.
• Provide concise, executive-level communication and recommendations to sponsors, steering committees, and senior leadership.
• Manage complex team dynamics, facilitate conflict resolution, conduct negotiations, and achieve organizational objectives through influence, with PMO support.
• Drive project delivery by facilitating decisions, resolving blockers, identifying risks/issues, and implementing mitigation plans.
• Navigate a matrixed resource environment, negotiating resource commitments across competing priorities.
• Manage external dependencies across teams, systems, and timelines to maintain schedule integrity and risk control.
• Identify and manage cross-project and cross-program dependencies impacting scope, schedule, cost, or outcomes.
• Escalate issues appropriately and facilitate timely decision-making when priorities or requirements conflict.
• Conduct detailed scope analysis to develop and maintain an accurate work breakdown structure throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain current and accurate project plans reflecting real resource assignments, progress, and forecasts.
• Manage cost forecasts and actuals, providing timely explanations for deviations.
• Coordinate vendor procurement, engagement, delivery, and performance.
• Support organizational readiness, adoption planning, and implementation activities.
• Ensure timesheet compliance across project teams.
• Utilize existing and emerging technologies (collaboration tools, AI, data analysis, PPM tools) to improve project execution efficiency.
• Operate within a highly regulated, audit-conscious environment, ensuring compliance, documentation, and reporting standards are met.
• Support PMO continuous improvement initiatives and sponsored projects.
• Foster a project culture aligned with the Company’s core values.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of related experience managing projects, product delivery, or workstream delivery beyond degree requirements (Required).
• Experience within a formal enterprise PMO with structured governance and executive accountability.
• Experience managing medium to high complexity projects with cross-functional resource pools.
• Experience working in a matrixed organization with shared services and resource negotiation.
• Experience in highly regulated, audit-conscious environments with formal documentation and reporting requirements.
• Experience using waterfall and hybrid methodologies within structured governance frameworks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project and JIRA or similar project tracking tools (Required).
• Proficiency in AI prompt design (Preferred).
• Additional Preferred Experience (Company ISO Operations & Regulatory Projects): Commercial operations or market systems, Grid systems, External stakeholder platforms.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering, IT, or related field (Required).
• OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications (Preferred)

• PMP (Project Management Professional)
• Agile / Scrum certifications
• Organizational Change Management certifications
• Lean Six Sigma certifications

Important Information

• Location: Fully Remote - MUST WORK WITHIN THE USA.
• Contract: 6-month contract with Possible Conversion to Full-Time.
• Client Policy: Client does not accept C2C.
• Pay Rate: $70.00 - $76.76/hr.
