About the Role
Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who produce essential insights, market predictions, and best practices for leading global organizations. As a Senior Director within the Business and Technology Insights (BTI) group, you will establish yourself as a credible and influential voice in your designated market at local, regional, and global levels. Leveraging strong research and analytical skills, you will create pragmatic and provocative insights that Gartner clients utilize to achieve their key business objectives. You will serve as a trusted advisor, reinforcing Gartner’s value through client engagements, including in-person and virtual meetings, sales support, and conferences.
What You Will Do
- Create innovative, thought-provoking, and highly leveraged "must-have insights" content.
- Develop new insights and ideas through thought leadership, offering compelling, actionable approaches to client needs.
- Conduct in-depth analysis to identify root causes of client barriers and reframe thinking to drive strategy forward.
- Demonstrate thought leadership by establishing Insights positions across a team of analysts.
- Bring provocative, independent insights to Gartner leaders that can evolve research agendas.
- Research, analyze, and predict market trends and shifts to provide actionable insights to clients and vendors.
- Provide actionable advice to clients and prospects via virtual or face-to-face interactions.
- Create and deliver high-value presentation materials for Gartner events, industry conferences, and client briefings.
- Support BTI and Sales by acting as the voice of the market, helping Insights teams create content and driving client engagement.
- Provide high-quality, timely peer review of content.
- Build credibility as an industry expert to represent Gartner insights, methodology, and strategy.
- Actively participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions, collaborating effectively with peers.
- Identify and implement process improvements for the team and BTI service delivery.
- Mentor and coach junior team members.
- Maintain a client-centric approach, actively seeking to increase client engagement with Gartner insights.
What You Will Need
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred.
- 12+ years of relevant field or industry experience.
- Proven software engineering leadership experience, managing large-scale, multi-team software delivery organizations with accountability for execution, quality, and outcomes.
- Deep expertise in software engineering strategy and operating models, including roadmap planning, technology decision-making, talent management, team structures, organizational design, and business stakeholder engagement.
- Hands-on expertise in AI-augmented software development, including embedding AI across the SDLC, leveraging AI for developer productivity, and optimizing software delivery.
- Advanced knowledge of AI application development, including agentic solutions, model development, platform engineering, and full-stack architectures for agentic systems.
- Recognized as an AI leader, with experience evaluating emerging AI technologies, vendors, and solutions, driving AI experimentation, and scaling AI/ML capabilities.
- Executive presence with the ability to establish immediate credibility with executives and stakeholders.
- Excellence in research and synthesis, with the ability to translate practitioner insight into actionable guidance for senior technology executives.
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables.
- Proficiency in data analysis and synthesis, applying patterns and frameworks to client challenges.
- Ability to explain complex concepts concisely and simply.
- Subject matter expertise, comfortable presenting at various speaking engagements.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
- Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the subject area.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural global team.
- Learning agility and adaptability in highly matrixed environments.
- Ability to effectively represent Gartner's research methodology and strategies.

- Estimated base salary range: $172,000 - $202,500 USD (actual salary may vary).
