About the Role

As a Senior Frontend Developer specializing in Vue, you will be instrumental in developing products that enhance residential aged care in Australia. Joining our Platform Engineering team, you'll collaborate with colleagues in Canada and Australia, working with Clinical, Finance, and Reporting teams to deliver high-quality, accessible experiences for our AlayaCare Residential product. This role focuses on migrating our Resi platform from AngularJS to Vue 3, improving performance, accessibility, and maintainability, while contributing to shared component libraries and automated testing. You'll work within a modern, AI-first development environment featuring a contemporary frontend stack and a cloud-native backend. This is a fully remote 12-month full-time contract position.

Your Impact

• Design, build, and maintain performant, accessible Vue 3 user interfaces that enhance care provider efficiency and accuracy.
• Lead the migration of existing AngularJS pages and components to Vue 3, preserving functionality while elevating the user experience.
• Diagnose and resolve UI/UX discrepancies during migration to ensure a consistent, intuitive product experience.
• Contribute to code reviews and technical discussions, championing best practices and frontend innovation.
• Implement and maintain component and end-to-end automated tests using Cypress for quality assurance.
• Optimize frontend performance (bundle size, rendering) and uphold WCAG accessibility standards.
• Monitor production code, investigate client-reported issues, and ship fixes to improve stability and customer trust.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on modern frontend development.
• Proven experience building production single-page applications in Vue (ideally Vue 3) using TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Demonstrated success migrating or modernizing large frontends (e.g., AngularJS to Vue/React) in mixed legacy/greenfield codebases.
• Strong understanding of component architecture, reactive patterns, and state management (Pinia, Vuex).
• Hands-on experience with modern build tooling (Vite, Webpack) and CSS/SCSS for responsive, accessible interfaces.
• Experience with component and end-to-end testing frameworks like Cypress.
• Ability to make sound technical decisions in ambiguous situations, communicate clearly with technical/non-technical partners, and collaborate across time zones.
• Curiosity to learn new technologies, stay current with industry trends, and leverage AI coding assistants.
