About Your Role

As a Senior Software Engineer (AI & Orchestration), you will be instrumental in translating innovative ideas into scalable, production-ready solutions. While part of Keylane’s AI team, your primary focus will be on the backend services, integrations, and platform capabilities that power AI functionalities across our product suite. You will collaborate closely with architects, software engineers, and AI specialists to explore new technologies, validate architectural approaches, and develop prototypes that guide Keylane's technical evolution. You'll own complex technical challenges, developing practical recommendations and working solutions.

Your responsibilities will include designing and building backend services, scalable APIs, integration services, and cloud-native applications using technologies like Java, Spring Boot, and Python, primarily within the Azure environment. You will contribute significantly to architectural discussions on distributed systems, event-driven patterns, security, and observability, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and reliable.

As a senior member, you will mentor colleagues, contribute to design discussions, and elevate engineering standards through code reviews and knowledge sharing. This role provides a unique opportunity to influence technical strategy and grow towards broader architectural responsibilities.

We collaborate closely with product development, architecture, and engineering specialists to identify opportunities and deliver AI-powered capabilities. You'll work alongside experienced colleagues passionate about solving challenging technical problems and sharing knowledge.

What You Bring

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Backend Development: Proven experience developing services and integrations using Python.
• Cloud Environments: Experience designing and developing scalable software solutions in cloud-based environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Architecture: Solid understanding of distributed systems, API design, integration patterns, and event-driven architectures.
• API Security: Experience designing and securing REST APIs, including authentication and authorization standards (OAuth2, OpenID Connect).
• Prototyping: Experience leading technical investigations, proofs of concept, or prototypes, and translating findings into actionable recommendations.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Collaboration: Collaborative mindset with a passion for mentoring and knowledge sharing.
• Languages: Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Nice to Have

• Experience with Java, Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, Azure Service Bus.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled development tools or AI platform technologies.
• Experience in regulated environments like insurance, pensions, banking, or financial services.

• Salary: Monthly gross salary between €5,200 and €7,500 (based on 40 hours/week).
