In addition to staff management, you may also be responsible for underwriting complex accounts directly.
  • Agent/Broker Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key agents and brokers. Foster the development of underwriters' technical, negotiation, communication, and deal-making capabilities.
  • Portfolio Management: Analyze portfolio performance using profitability metrics, evolving risk scenarios, outcome and volatility ranges, reinsurance data, opportunity metrics, and industry trends. Define the underwriting team's execution strategy and oversee its implementation to continuously improve the portfolio in alignment with team objectives. Serve as the primary custodian of capital for your team.
  • Quality Audit and Account Review: Collaborate with the LMMS SUO and OOU to ensure all files comply with regulatory requirements and internal documentation standards. Coach underwriters on articulating their thought processes and decision-making in account reviews and file documentation.
