What You'll Do

As part of an iconic brand set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace, you will:

  • Perform technical planning across multiple technology domains (compute, storage, client, network, physical cable management, production asset management, and infrastructure components) throughout the factory.
  • Create and maintain Technology Architecture documentation for transparency.
  • Integrate manufacturing technology solutions into Scout's cybersecurity strategy.
  • Create Infrastructure and Hardware Lifecycle Plans.
  • Assess requirements and deliver solutions in accordance with Production business requirements.
  • Collaborate with production stakeholders to determine expected performance levels and risks with new processes and systems, creating continuous improvement plans addressing Mean Time to Recovery objectives.
  • Manage projects and track the assigned technology portfolio to ensure operational readiness for factory operations.
  • Identify, prototype, and test automated solutions that support business process maturity or improvement.
  • Support continuous improvement processes on the production floor.
  • Identify automated solutions that promote self-healing and self-service technologies.
  • Deliver line-side technology solutions in coordination with the planning department and automation experts responsible for integrating core production systems with Plant Production Processes.
  • Work with application specialists and the enterprise architecture team to identify infrastructure components impacting key performance indicators.
  • Ensure monitoring and visualization capabilities are available to support teams for efficient recovery if an issue is encountered.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technology advancements, and best practices related to manufacturing systems.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in production system architecture, providing technical expertise and guidance to Plant stakeholders.
  • Lead during the early phases of a project/initiative, responsible for scoping, gathering requirements, collaborating with domain architects, and leading teams to develop scalable and sustainable solutions.

Location & Travel Expectations

  • This role will be based in Columbia, South Carolina.
  • Requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
  • Occasional travel may be required to participate in events on behalf of the company.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field preferred, with 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing facilities.
  • Success in delivering complex technology solutions under tight timelines.
  • Good project management skills with the ability to break down complex tasks into smaller, reportable components.
  • Ability to prepare, organize, and present technical decision papers to upper management.
  • Broad knowledge (logical and physical) of various technology domains.
  • Good working knowledge of ITIL Service Design, Transition, and Operations.
  • Experience working across manufacturing business domains.
  • Deep understanding of system integration technologies between hardware and software solutions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in large hardware integration projects and modern IT architecture concepts.
  • Proven track record of deploying solutions to operational readiness in a 24/7 production environment.
  • Experience working with monitoring solutions to provide transparency to business and supporting stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and develop improved solutions.
  • Ability to translate high-level needs into architecture requirements and communicate them to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to think outside the box and deliver temporary solutions for emergency demands.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a dynamic greenfield environment.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible for a base salary and an annual performance bonus. The initial base salary range is $110,000.00 - $135,000.00.

Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset.
