About the Team

The Data Intelligence & Analytics organization at Cloudflare builds the core data platform and internal products that drive company-wide decision-making. We design and operate large-scale data systems, manage the company’s data lake and ingestion infrastructure, and develop end-to-end applications that transform complex data into reliable business-critical products. Our work spans data platforms, distributed systems, and product development, offering opportunities to own problems across the stack, build specialized data solutions for ML, and construct systems that run the business.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our Bengaluru team and contribute to scaling our internal data products. You will build data-driven applications that empower go-to-market, engineering, and product teams. This is an end-to-end role where you will shape requirements, design features, implement solutions, and maintain long-term ownership. You will develop scalable, reliable systems, partnering with full-stack engineers on data pipelines and services. Our tech stack includes Go, Scala, and ClickHouse, with significant opportunities to work with AI components, vector databases, and Workers AI.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement core components of data pipelines and services using Go and Scala, focusing on scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and product stakeholders to design solutions for strategic initiatives, data products, and agentic AI architectures.
• Contribute to evolving the data platform architecture to enhance scalability, reliability, observability, and data correctness.
• Build and curate high-quality datasets for internal products, predictive analytics, and LLM-enabled features.
• Develop a deep understanding of the company’s data ecosystem and collaborate with global data engineering teams to improve data ingestion, quality, and governance.
• Lead by example through design reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentorship, raising the technical bar for data engineering and AI implementation standards.

Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, software engineering, or related roles, building and operating production data systems.
• Strong programming expertise in Go, Python, or JVM-based languages, with experience in production-grade services and pipelines.
• Deep knowledge of SQL and hands-on experience with relational, analytical, or vector databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, ClickHouse).
• Experience building scalable, reliable, and observable data pipelines, understanding performance, data quality, and operational best practices.
• Proven problem-solving and communication skills, with a track record of driving projects in ambiguous environments and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Bonus Points

• Familiarity with container-based deployments (Docker & Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, foundational Large Language Model (LLM) orchestration frameworks, or similar technologies.
