Position Summary
Reporting to the VP, Innovation, Solution Delivery, the Forward Deployed Engineer (Agentic AI) will work directly with enterprise clients to design, build, and operationalize agentic AI solutions in production environments. This role is crucial for delivering client outcomes, integrating AI systems with existing enterprise platforms, and ensuring successful deployment through to ongoing support.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery and scope agentic AI use cases, translating business needs into measurable engineering deliverables.
- Design target architectures adaptable to client environments, selecting appropriate AI platforms (hyperscale, ServiceNow, etc.).
- Write production-grade code for solution delivery, adhering to client's source control, CI/CD, and release governance.
- Develop and tune retrieval pipelines, prompt architecture, guardrails, agent orchestration, and human-in-the-loop controls.
- Implement enterprise-safe agent tool execution with robust controls for permissions, approvals, audits, and rollbacks.
- Build evaluation suites to detect hallucinations, regressions, and quality drift, and implement production observability for key AI metrics.
- Integrate solutions with client identity, security, network, and compliance tooling.
- Manage the transition through cutover and initial production cycles, ensuring a structured handover to support teams with comprehensive documentation.
- Provide escalation support to the ongoing support team post-handover.
- Cultivate trusted advisor relationships with client stakeholders at all levels.
- Contribute to the development of reusable patterns, accelerators, and reference architectures based on field learnings.
Requirements
This is a Principal-level role requiring significant independent operation within enterprise client environments. We value deep experience in production engineering and applied AI, with a strong emphasis on recent, hands-on agentic AI work. Equivalent experience in machine learning engineering, applied AI research with production deployment, or senior backend engineering with recent agentic shipping is also considered.
- 8+ years of professional engineering experience with substantial production system deployment.
- 2+ years shipping AI or machine learning systems into production, with demonstrated hands-on agentic or LLM-based work.
- Proven track record working directly with Fortune 500 or Global 2000 enterprise clients in complex environments.
- Experience across the full system lifecycle, including architecture, handover, and escalation support.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and deliver in emerging technical disciplines.
Skills
- ERP and enterprise systems experience: SAP, Oracle E-Business Suite, JD Edwards, Infor, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Workday. Direct SAP and Oracle EBS experience is highly valued.
- Experience with multiple agent AI platforms.
- Prior experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Applied AI Engineer, or similar embedded delivery role.
- Production Python and proficiency in at least one other enterprise/full-stack language (TypeScript, Java, Go, C#, Scala).
- SQL and data modeling fluency.
- Hands-on experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
- Expertise in evaluation suite design for LLM-based systems.
- Production observability for AI systems.
- Working knowledge of major agentic AI platforms (e.g., AWS Bedrock, Azure AI, Google Vertex AI, ServiceNow AI) and willingness to learn others.
- Experience with agent tool execution and governance.
- Enterprise integration fundamentals (REST, event-driven patterns, identity flows, secure deployment).
- UI and front-end fluency with modern web frameworks (Angular, React).
- Experience with durable execution frameworks, event-driven architectures, or workflow orchestration at enterprise scale.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong consultative and outcomes-driven instincts.
- High autonomy, resilience, and pragmatism in complex environments.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Location and Travel
- Remote – Singapore
- Travel up to 25% for client, prospect, partner engagement, or events.
