As the Commercial Counsel for SpendHound, you will be a key partner to the SpendHound commercial teams, managing the full lifecycle of deal execution.

Your Role as SpendHound Commercial Counsel

• Develop expertise in contract negotiation and drafting to successfully close deals, guiding commercial teams from initial contract initiation or NDA negotiation through deal completion.
• Learn and adapt in a rapidly changing environment by tackling new challenges and developing innovative contracting frameworks for creative sales initiatives.
• Enhance processes, efficiency, and best practices, including contributing to the contract management platform and improving internal forms and processes.
• Collaborate with the SpendHound team to facilitate contract reviews and internal workflows.
• Evaluate and advise on legal courses of action to meet company and business unit needs.

You Are Likely To Succeed If You Have:

• A law degree (JD or equivalent) from a top law school, a license to practice, and good standing in New York.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience as a practicing attorney at a law firm or in-house, with a strong preference for drafting and negotiating business contracts.
• Enthusiasm for working on commercial contracts involving both legal and financial/commercial issues, with a passion for drafting, negotiating, and redlining.
• Stellar attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to work cross-functionally.
• A drive to thrive in ambiguity, think creatively, and handle new responsibilities independently.
• Nice to have: SaaS background.

Location & Logistics

• This role can be performed fully remotely within the United States. Our US headquarters are in NYC, with hubs in Austin, Miami, and Mountain View. Remote work outside these locations may be subject to New York State tax withholding.
