About the Role
Join our Agile squad as an Apprentice Product Owner, where you will learn to represent the voice of the customer and the organization. Under guidance, you'll work closely with stakeholders to maximize product value by defining and prioritizing features and user stories, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. This role involves researching external constraints, such as regulatory and compliance requirements, and may include performing Product Owner tasks for lower-risk initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support the communication and alignment of the product vision, with guidance from a Product Owner. Contribute to defining the product vision.
- Aid in the use of product-level KPIs to drive product decisions by collecting data and reinforcing their application.
- Assist in creating and maintaining the product backlog, including prioritization and acceptance criteria.
- Contribute to squad/team quarterly planning and set expectations for new capabilities, features, and functionalities.
- Participate actively in all squad/team ceremonies, including demos and retrospectives.
- Work daily with the Agile working group, clarifying business requirements, removing roadblocks, and supporting alignment around product strategy.
- Monitor and maintain product health to ensure long-term viability and efficiency, with guidance.
- Analyze the feasibility, cost of delay, economies, and other aspects of planned product changes.
- Research regulatory, compliance, and other industry constraints on the product. Negotiate priorities within the portfolio during sprints.
- Support the building of the product roadmap at the squad/team level based on strategy and stakeholder input.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, computer science, humanities) or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in business, technology, or consulting, with at least 1 year of direct experience with agile teams.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships, influence others, and build consensus.
- Experience communicating moderately complex ideas, issues, and designs.
- Ability to operate with incomplete information and make timely decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lead a team.
- An experimental mindset with a demonstrated willingness to learn and experiment.
