Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of Digital Ad Trafficking Specialists for NBC Local.
  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, training, and development of the Ad Trafficking team.
  • Manage end-to-end campaign management, ensuring proficiency in the digital workflow between support teams and trafficking.
  • Lead special projects and collaborate with other internal teams.
  • Manage multiple internal and external policies, understanding sales opportunities and business rules.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to troubleshoot ad servers and sites, ensuring campaign, tag, and site functionality.
  • Define and develop best practices for operational processes and support for ad-supported streaming services, including NBC Sports live streaming.
  • Maintain proactive communication regarding account status across multiple stakeholders.
  • Monitor and improve customer satisfaction related to campaign management and performance.
  • Assist with documenting, updating, and maintaining ad specs, trafficking, and workflow procedures.
  • Ensure creative adheres to technical specifications, including testing and troubleshooting third-party ads.
  • Become a technical subject-matter expert (SME) across ad systems including Google Ad Manager, FreeWheel, and Operative One, with strong troubleshooting acumen.
  • Manage communications with both internal and external teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of working experience in ad serving platforms or ad trafficking. (3-5 years of practical work experience in digital technology or advertising can be substituted for college education).
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills.
  • Ability to clearly convey technical and complex information through written communication.
  • Ability to react to change productively.
  • Aptitude to present in meetings for teams and large audiences.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Solid understanding of Google Ad Manager, FreeWheel, and other digital advertising vendors.
  • Strong understanding of various online creative formats (e.g., Javascript tags, Video/VAST, Rich Media).
  • Previous supervisors/management experience (a plus).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (both written and oral) (a plus).
  • Previous people management experience leading ad operations, trafficking, or campaign management teams (preferred).
  • Experience supporting local media, streaming, or broadcast advertising businesses (preferred).
  • Based in the Los Angeles area and able to regularly support Pacific Time business hours (preferred).
  • Experience partnering with Los Angeles-based stakeholders and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced media environment (preferred).
