Responsibilities

• Lead the development and evolution of React Native + Expo apps for customer and broker journeys.
• Write clean, maintainable TypeScript/React Native code, directly and via AI-assisted development (Claude Code), with secure-by-default practices.
• Design, implement, and own significant parts of the app architecture (navigation, data/domain layers, Zustand stores, module boundaries, Expo config plugins, native integrations).
• Build and maintain shared npm packages for reuse across multiple apps (deep linking, push notifications, developer utilities).
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend engineers to ship end-to-end features, integrating APIs and ensuring a smooth cross-platform experience.
• Build with a security mindset: threat modeling, least-privilege data access, and careful handling of sensitive financial data.
• Instrument, monitor, and support built features: analytics, monitoring (RUM), structured logging, crash reporting, and alerting.
• Contribute to CI/CD (Bitbucket, Buildkite, EAS Build), code reviews, automated testing, and continuous refactoring.
• Work with AI agents (Claude Code): write OpenSpec proposals, review agent-generated PRs, and evolve agentic development practices.
• Mentor and support other mobile engineers; drive best practices within a collaborative team.

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of professional software development with significant, current commercial experience in React Native (TypeScript).
• Proven delivery of production apps on both iOS and Android with deep platform knowledge.
• Secure mobile development fundamentals (encryption, Keychain/Keystore, safe storage/transport of sensitive data, OWASP mobile guidance).
• Working knowledge of authentication & authorization standards (OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect) and robust session management on mobile.
• Strong testing discipline (unit and component tests in CI).
• Backend integration experience (REST/GraphQL), including auth flows, resilience, and error handling.
• Production ownership experience (telemetry, debugging, incident mitigation, runbooks, feature flags).
• Clear, considerate communication and a collaborative approach.
• Desirable: Expo experience (SDK, EAS Build/Update, config plugins, managed workflow, Expo Modules API vs. bare native code).
