About the Role

Join our dynamic Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit as an Engineering Manager for the Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation (EC&I) department. You will play a pivotal role in the design and delivery of cutting-edge Small Modular Reactor (SMR) nuclear power plants. This role involves coordinating and leading EC&I projects, overseeing critical safety systems, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully, on time, and within budget. If you have a strong technical background in EC&I and experience managing complex, safety-critical programs, this is your opportunity to drive excellence in the power industry.

Your Mission:

  • Develop Technical Programmes: Create and manage EC&I technical programs across the entire product lifecycle.
  • Detailed Task Planning: Meticulously plan tasks, considering dependencies with other project areas.
  • Ensure Work Integration: Foster seamless collaboration for integrated solutions.
  • Scope Management: Monitor tasks and implement protocols for program scope adjustments.
  • Resource Alignment: Identify resource gaps and assist the Chief Design Engineer (CDE) with resourcing strategies.
  • Budget Development: Contribute to establishing and maintaining EC&I program budgets.
  • Financial Oversight: Track work pack budgets, forecast, and monitor actual costs.
  • Risk Monitoring: Manage program risks, including threats and opportunities.
  • Contract Staff Management: Oversee and optimize resource allocation for contract staff.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in EC&I design and management, with expertise in at least two key areas (e.g., Control Systems, Radiometrics, Functional Safety).
  • Familiarity with highly regulated industries, control systems, design phases, configuration management, and life cycle stages.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in managing teams, project complexities, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering; advanced degrees are a plus.
