About the Role

Join our team as a Process Engineer and contribute to the innovative SMR (Small Modular Reactor) project. You will be instrumental in designing complex thermal and fluid systems for this commercially groundbreaking new build. Embrace innovation and play a key role in shaping the future of nuclear energy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze & Calculate: Support cooling water island systems using advanced analysis and calculation methods.
  • Flow & Thermal Analyses: Perform static and transient flow and thermal analyses with sophisticated software tools.
  • System Design & Integration: Assist in the design and integration of various critical systems.
  • Documentation: Produce, review, and update essential system documentation.
  • Control Philosophy: Define control strategies to optimize system performance.
  • Component Sizing: Determine appropriate sizing for system components.
  • Thermal-Hydraulic Modeling: Conduct detailed thermal-hydraulic calculations and modeling.
  • Equipment Specifications: Formulate precise equipment specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Process or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.
  • Experience: Proven experience in producing design documentation and test specifications.
  • Software Proficiency: Expertise with PIPESIM, Flomaster, or other 1D CFD software.
  • Security Clearance: Applicants must meet UK security clearance criteria.
