Position Summary:
EarnIn is seeking experienced, passionate, and resourceful mid-level engineers to join our backend teams. You will work cross-functionally to design and develop our backend services. This role is crucial for building secure, scalable services that enable fast, compliant, and reliable financial operations.

This is a hybrid role based in our Bengaluru office, requiring 2 days on-site. EarnIn offers excellent benefits, including healthcare, internet/cell phone reimbursement, a learning and development stipend, and potential travel opportunities to our Mountain View HQ. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Visa sponsorship is not provided.

What You'll Do:

• Design and implement features robust enough for our large scale.
• Drive the implementation of new features—break complex problems down, translate complexity into elegant design, and create high-quality, maintainable code.
• Create and maintain test automation to enable continuous integration and development velocity.
• Design and deliver thoughtfully crafted REST APIs to drive interactions between client applications and backend services.
• Leverage a broad skill set and help implement and learn new technologies quickly.
• Provide and receive design and implementation evaluations to improve with each iteration.
• Debug production issues across our services infrastructure and multiple levels of our stack.
• Think about distributed systems and services, and care passionately about producing high-quality code.

What We're Looking For:

• 3+ years of development experience in Software Engineering.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Proficient in at least one modern programming language such as C#, Kotlin, Java, Python, Go, and Scala.
• Hands-on experience working with various databases (DynamoDB, MySQL, ElasticSearch) and data pipeline technologies.
• Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools.
• Experienced in developing and executing functional and integration tests.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, LLMs) to improve engineering productivity.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a bias towards action and results.
• Experience with Kubernetes, microservices, and event-driven architecture is a strong plus.
• Experience in payments/fintech is a plus.
