About the Role

As a Software Developer, you will play a crucial role in delivering technology and transformation solutions. You will be responsible for analyzing technical designs, producing estimates, creating functional specifications, coding new developments, and ensuring the quality of output. This role involves mentoring junior team members, coordinating releases, and supporting project managers. You will also be instrumental in managing live incidents, performing root cause analysis, and identifying opportunities for continuous service improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide and analyze technical designs in line with business requirements.
• Produce high-level and detailed estimates for governance gateway documents.
• Create functional design specifications and/or user stories.
• Code new developments/enhancements in line with standards.
• Quality assure code and output in the project.
• Peer review code.
• Identify and implement sufficient integration testing, system testing, and automation testing where necessary.
• Provide support for applications in the system test environments.
• Mentor and coach junior members and manage their tasks.
• Guide intermediate-level team members in their work.
• Plan and coordinate system test and live releases.
• Support project managers in all aspects of their work.
• Provide input to governance and status reports.
• Outline resource requirements for a project/sub-team.
• Track project progress against the plan and report variances.
• Identify and report on any technical risks relevant to project delivery.
• Manage issues and risks affecting the project/team.
• Investigate and prioritize live incidents.
• Perform root cause analysis and propose permanent fixes or suitable workarounds.
• Organize live incident tickets or bug tracking.
• Manage and monitor live issues across various systems.
• Liaise with development/Continuous Service Improvement teams to identify and implement fixes.
• Identify Continuous Service Improvements and work to implement initiatives.
