About the Role

The Pre-Sales Solutions Engineering organization is crucial to the technical sales of Cloudflare's solutions. We ensure customers receive maximum business value, appropriate solution designs, and efficient adoption roadmaps. Our diverse team, comprising individuals from various backgrounds like Financial Consulting, Product Management, Customer Support, and Software Engineering, thrives on curiosity and collaboration.

As a Solutions Engineer, you are the technical advocate for our customers. You'll collaborate across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Support to achieve customer success and develop scalable solutions. Given the breadth of Cloudflare's offerings, a strong understanding of internet performance and security technologies is essential. Continuous learning and curiosity are key to keeping pace with our rapid product innovation. Resources and training will be provided.

What You'll Do

• Act as the technical customer advocate within Cloudflare.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Support teams.
• Develop scalable solutions to meet customer needs.
• Gain a broad knowledge of Internet performance and security technology, and maintain it through continuous learning.

Examples of Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

We value a diversity of experience combined with genuine curiosity for our technology. You should be passionate about technology, able to explain complex concepts simply, naturally curious, and eager to build and solve problems.

• 3-to-10 years of experience in the IT industry (early or mid-level).
• Fluent Hebrew and English (written & spoken).
• Project management skills, including managing deadlines and prioritizing tasks.
• Empathy for customers, with the ability to quickly identify their challenges and pain points.
• Fundamental understanding of how the internet works, including:
• Differences between TCP & UDP and their application suitability.
• Explanation of authoritative vs. recursive DNS.
• Understanding the role of firewalls, TLS (SSL), HTTP, and client/server interactions.
• Knowledge of how customers make buying decisions and how to explain ROI.
• Familiarity with the competitive landscape for DDoS, CDN, Performance, DNS, Developer platforms, or Zero-Trust/SASE.
• Willingness to travel (10-15 days per quarter) for customer visits, conferences, and talks.

Bonus Points

• Previous experience in a pre-sales SE or consulting role (not necessarily in tech).
• Demonstrated experience with a scripting language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Bash) and a desire to expand these skills.
• Exposure to emerging security trends like Zero Trust.
