The Role

As a Senior SRE for AWS, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and operating highly reliable, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS. You will ensure the stability and performance of production systems by applying Site Reliability Engineering principles, automation, and Infrastructure as Code practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects and application engineers to ensure applications are maintainable, scalable, and adhere to appropriate disaster recovery and high availability strategies.
• Contribute to handbooks, runbooks, and architecture design documents to ensure consistent working methods and transparency.
• Develop and automate standard operating procedures for common failure scenarios and manual tasks.
• Work within scrum teams alongside architects and product managers to support and deploy new infrastructures and operational requirements.
• Design, manage, and maintain tools to automate manual operational processes.
• Build and maintain production systems on AWS using services like ALB, ELB, WAF, S3, Serverless, APIs, Route53, etc., with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and CloudFormation).
• Troubleshoot problems, involving appropriate resources and driving resolution with a focus on minimizing customer impact.
• Leverage deep expertise to plan and lead the deployment of cloud solutions into production environments using CI/CD pipelines.
• Create practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and present them to team members.
• Contribute to the development of best practices for Infrastructure as Code, software build tools, and Continuous Integration.
• Collaborate with multinational teams in an international environment.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, particularly ALB/ELB, WAF, S3, Route53, serverless components, and API integrations.
• Solid experience designing, deploying, and operating cloud-native infrastructure in production environments.
• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated infrastructure and application deployments.
• Strong automation and scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, or similar).
• Experience designing high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery architectures in cloud environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills.
• Experience creating and maintaining runbooks, operational documentation, and architecture documentation.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Experience implementing and promoting DevOps best practices.
• Experience building and maintaining operational tooling and automation frameworks.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proactive, solution-oriented, and comfortable demonstrating and explaining technical solutions.

Working Conditions

• Remote working possibility is only available within Slovakia due to European taxation regulations.

Compensation

• Final salary is negotiable, depending on seniority and experience.
• Base salary will not be lower than 2,200 € / brutto, plus a variable part and other financial benefits.
