Firewall Specialist (m/w/d)

Join an internationally active industrial company as a Firewall Specialist and play a crucial role in developing and maintaining a modern network and security infrastructure. This position offers the flexibility of working from various locations in Germany or entirely remotely from home.

About the Role

In this central role, you will ensure and advance a state-of-the-art network and security infrastructure, focusing on Palo Alto Firewalls, network security, and group-wide security standards within a technologically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and ensure the secure operation and further development of the group-wide network and firewall infrastructure in a Palo Alto environment.
• Manage business-critical IT and OT environments and actively contribute to the evolution of the security architecture.
• Implement exciting projects focused on harmonizing and automating the group-wide firewall architecture and network security.
• Analyze and process security incidents, service requests, and customer requirements in the area of network and firewall infrastructure.
• Take responsibility for patch management, lifecycle management, and continuous optimization of the existing security infrastructure.
• Collaborate closely with internal departments and support the team in operational activities.

Requirements

• Completed vocational training/degree in IT or a comparable qualification; alternatively, extensive relevant professional experience.
• Minimum of two years of experience in firewalls, networks, and network security.
• Solid practical experience in managing firewalls, ideally with Palo Alto, including Prisma Access and other Palo Alto products.
• Ideally, good knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems and the operation of complex IT infrastructures.
• Analytical, structured, and self-reliant approach, with the ability to handle demanding or time-critical situations confidently.
• Confident communication skills in German and English.
