Engineer - Cloud Backend (m/f/d)

Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions Slovakia is seeking an Engineer to join the T-Cloud Public team. T-Cloud Public is a public cloud standard product based on open-source community software and driven by DevSecOps principles. We operate in a dynamic environment with lean structures, agile methods, and highly motivated teams.

About the Role

As an Engineer, you will be at the forefront of cloud and container technology, developing and enhancing our T-Cloud Public platform in a customer-oriented manner. You will solve complex problems in the daily operation of a hyper-scaler’s cloud backend, work hands-on with hardware, and develop and operate monitoring and quality assurance systems. Automation is key, and you will consistently apply it using common frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Solve complex problems in the daily operation of a hyper-scaler’s cloud backend.
• Work hands-on with hardware at the console.
• Develop and operate monitoring and quality assurance systems.
• Consistently automate processes using common automation frameworks.
• Collaborate within a team of specialists in an open and trusting environment.

Qualifications

• Completed studies in a technical, engineering, or scientific subject, or comparable professional training.
• 2-5 years of professional experience in IT with a focus on modern cloud technologies.
• Very good knowledge of software-defined networks, routing, firewalls, and physical networks.
• Extensive knowledge in infrastructure automation.
• Strong experience in Linux and network-related services.
• High level of customer focus.
• Knowledge of agile development processes.
• Ability to assess technical solutions and devise creative approaches.
• OpenStack and programming experience in open-source projects is a plus.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Must be able to work in the European Union to meet customer data security and privacy requirements.
