Accounting Manager

Gemini is seeking a dynamic Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain compliance with GAAP and internal policies. This crucial role supports our continued scaling and efforts to increase transparency and public company reporting. You will report directly to the Controller and be involved in key growth projects impacting the Finance department and the organization.

Our Finance and Accounting teams are thought leaders in digital asset accounting, bridging traditional finance with the innovation of cryptocurrency products.

The Role:

As Accounting Manager, you will own the close process for assigned areas, prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules. You will also analyze technical accounting areas, particularly around digital assets and emerging guidance, and partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Tax, Legal, and Operations teams.

Responsibilities:

• Own the close process for assigned areas.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Assist in the analysis of technical accounting areas, focusing on digital assets and emerging guidance.
• Analyze financial statement fluctuations and trends, providing insightful commentary.
• Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Tax, Legal, and Operations teams to support business initiatives.
• Support the preparation of audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors.
• Contribute to SOX implementation and internal control documentation.
• Identify automation opportunities within the accounting function and work with the Finance Transformation team.
• Mentor staff and senior accountants, building a high-performing team.
• Lead or support special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of accounting experience.
• Big 4 accounting firm experience is a plus.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Strong technical accounting skills; experience with digital assets or fintech is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Proven track record of meeting deadlines and ownership of complex areas.
• Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced, changing financial environment.
• Demonstrated capacity for excellent judgment, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and relationship-building abilities.

Salary Range:

• $112,000 - $160,000 in New York (base salary, exclusive of bonus and equity).
• Compensation is determined by skillset, experience, job scope, and market data.

Work Approach:

• Hybrid work approach in hub offices in the United States, balancing in-person collaboration with remote flexibility. Remote employees not near a hub are part of the remote workforce.
