Job Description

Summary of Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head House Person & Floor Supervisors, your responsibilities will include:

• Consistently providing professional, engaging, and proactive guest service while supporting colleagues.
• Cleaning guest corridors, rooms, balconies, and other assigned hotel areas.
• Assisting Room Attendants with deep cleaning, vacuuming, and other duties as required.
• Promptly removing dirty linen, garbage, and recyclables from guest rooms.
• Responding efficiently to guest requests for amenities (e.g., cribs, cots, extra towels).
• Maintaining inventory levels in housekeeping closets, including collecting and distributing clean linen and restocking supplies.
• Ensuring housekeeping equipment is cleaned and maintained.
• Reporting any defects in guestrooms or surrounding areas to Royal Service and Housekeeping leadership.
• Treating every guest as a unique individual and anticipating their needs with thoughtful touches.
• Resolving guest issues effectively, always offering alternatives when unable to fulfill a request directly.
• Acting as a brand ambassador for the hotel, community, and colleagues.
• Adhering to Fairmont core values: respect, integrity, teamwork, empowerment, and accountability.
• Following all outlined procedures for housekeeping duties.
• Participating in hotel committees.
• Strict adherence to all Health & Safety training, guidelines, and work practices, especially in light of current global health considerations.
• Performing any other duties as required by the department.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping experience in a luxury hotel environment is an asset.
• A strong work ethic and the ability to work efficiently in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
• Physical fitness, with the ability to stand, lift, push, and pull for extended periods.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of hotel facilities and the surrounding area is beneficial.
• Ability to work well under pressure.

Physical Aspects of Position

• Walking, standing, bending, pushing, and pulling for 2-6 hours daily.
• Does not lift weights exceeding 25 lbs.
• Requires constant repetitive motion.
