The Role

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth across our events and marketing services within the insurance division. This includes lead generation platforms, leading media channels, and bespoke video content. You will work on high-profile events such as the British Insurance Awards at the Royal Albert Hall and the Broker Expo at the NEC in Birmingham, as well as more targeted conferences. You will also have the flexibility to create and develop your own marketing and event solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Implement a sales strategy for your assigned client base.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the professional communities we serve, their needs, and how our solutions can meet them.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to diligently follow up on leads, converting them into opportunities and sales.
  • Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with clients, becoming their trusted marketing solutions advisor.
  • Meet and exceed quarterly sales goals.
  • Act as a proactive, curious, high-energy, results-oriented individual with a reputation for getting things done.
  • Demonstrate successful outbound sales "hunter" experience.
  • Utilize consultative sales experience, with a track record of building excellent client relationships, offering value-added solutions, and sharing insights.
  • Communicate effectively with strong executive presence and sales acumen.
  • Collaborate effectively with campaign management, marketing, and events teams.

Requirements

  • Action-oriented, results-driven, and credible commercial professional with a record of B2B sales, ideally in financial services.
  • Previous experience in media sales is important.
  • B2B media experience is a plus.
  • Industry knowledge in financial markets (derivatives & capital markets, risk management), insurance, or financial technology is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various teams.

Location

This role is hybrid based in London.
