⨠AI Insights & Summary
KIRA is a visionary fintech company focused on making financial services accessible and intelligent across Southeast Asia, with a strong emphasis on AI integration. This Product Lead role is a prime opportunity to steer the strategy and execution of critical, AI-driven product verticals within a regulated financial domain. If you possess a rare blend of product leadership, technical acumen, domain expertise in regulated industries, and a pragmatic approach to AI implementation, KIRA offers a challenging and rewarding environment to shape the future of AI in finance.
Product Lead, AI Money Movement
About KIRA
Our mission is to make money smart, reliable, and within reach for everyone. In 2019, we built the first mobile-first, insurance platform, enabling insurance to be accessible online by millions in the region. Today, it's the leading insurance platform in Southeast Asia. We are expanding our offerings to include spending, saving, investing, exchanging, travelling, and more, aiming to empower users with tools for financial ease and self-reliance. We believe AI will be instrumental in achieving this vision.
We seek talented, driven individuals who are passionate about building great products, not just maintaining the status quo. Join our diverse, global team of over 20 nationalities and help us redefine financial applications for everyone.
What You'll Own
- Own a vertical end-to-end: outcomes, metrics, backlog prioritization, and acceptance criteria.
- Shape technical design with engineering, focusing on system boundaries, money-movement correctness (idempotency, ledgering, reconciliation), third-party rail reliability, failure/retry/refund paths, security, latency, scalability, and recovery.
- Make and defend critical trade-offs across correctness, speed, cost, reliability, and user experience to engineering, compliance, and operations leads.
- Integrate regulated constraints (licensing, CDD/KYC, sanctions, transaction monitoring, data residency) as first-class product inputs.
- Apply AI pragmatically: define decision-making authority, human-in-the-loop requirements, evaluation strategies, and fallback mechanisms for AI uncertainty. Ensure AI outputs trace back to real records.
- Ship against external gates by building feature-complete products behind flags and launching per partner and regulatory clearance.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, Compliance, Operations, Treasury, and Finance/Reconciliation teams.
What We're Looking For
- Product Leadership: Significant experience owning complex technical products end-to-end; strong judgment and decisiveness under ambiguity; ability to balance ambition with technical, regulatory, and operational realities; capability to engage effectively with senior engineers.
- Technical Foundation: Solid understanding of system design (boundaries, datastores, queues/workflows, APIs, failure modes, concurrency consistency); comfort reviewing and challenging design documents; ability to sketch architectures and sequences. Technical depth without necessarily writing production code.
- Domain Expertise: Experience in a regulated/high-consequence domain (e.g., payments, banking, remittance, insurance) or demonstrable rapid learning ability; understanding of the unique challenges of money movement (correctness over convenience, irreversible states, managing external partners).
- AI Judgment: Hands-on experience with LLM-based products; ability to frame features as evaluable (offline, online, human feedback); realistic assessment of hallucination, drift, and data gaps; understanding of data-blocked vs. model-blocked scenarios and when AI should not be in the loop.
- Nice to Have: Engineering or highly-technical PM background; experience with zero-to-one product launches; shipped AI-heavy consumer products; defined evaluation metrics for ML/LLM systems; AI UX and failure-handling intuition; SEA market experience.
Outcome
- Clear vertical strategy and a legible roadmap.
- Fast, gate-clearing releases.
- Accurate money movement and transparent user fund status.
- Valuable, predictable, and trusted AI features.
- Deliberate trade-offs made under uncertainty that withstand scrutiny.
- Aligned and low-friction collaboration across Engineering, Design, Compliance, and Operations.
