About the Role:

The Revenue Engine team at Charlie Health is responsible for revenue collection, financial reporting, and the patient financial experience. As a Data Engineer on this team, you will build ELT pipelines, develop custom DAGs, transform and warehouse data with DBT, and build integrations between our systems. We are a team of passionate, forward-thinking professionals eager to tackle the mental health crisis and play a formative role in providing life-saving solutions. Responsibilities:

  • Develop, release, and maintain high-quality data pipelines using Python, FiveTran, DBT, and Snowflake.
  • Own and guide the development of our data infrastructure.
  • Orchestrate complex data workflows using Dagster.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to our data engineering processes, tools, and procedures. Everyone on our team shares responsibility for continuously improving how we work.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration and learning across the technology team via mentoring, documentation, presentations, or other knowledge-sharing methods.
  • Ensure our data is always available by participating in our on-call rotation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 5 years of experience in a data engineering role.
  • Deep expertise in SQL, including CTEs, aggregation functions, window functions, and partitioning/clustering approaches for correct and highly-performant queries.
  • High proficiency in Python and experience using common data engineering libraries such as Pandas, Numpy, and Great Expectations.
  • Experience with a modern data stack. Experience with FiveTran, Snowflake, DBT, Dagster, and Tableau is a significant plus.
  • Experience with data exploration, profiling, governance, visualization, and activation.
  • Proven ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience working with sensitive data in a regulated environment.
  • Expertise in healthcare and/or revenue cycle management is a plus.
  • You live within a 75-minute commute of our NYC office (near Union Square) and are able to work in-office 4 days per week.

Benefits:

Charlie Health offers comprehensive benefits to all full-time, exempt employees. The total target base compensation for this role will be between $175,000 and $255,000 per year. Pay will be determined on an individualized basis and will be impacted by location, experience, expertise, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Cash compensation is only part of the total compensation package, which may include stock options and other Charlie Health-sponsored benefits.
