Product Designer (Lucie Health Marketplace)

About the Role:

Oscar, a pioneering health insurance company built on a full-stack technology platform, is seeking a Product Designer to join its Product Design team. You will focus on the Lucie Health Marketplace, a new storefront designed to revolutionize how Americans shop for healthcare. This role involves designing and shipping tools that empower brokers and consumers to evaluate and enroll in healthcare coverage. You will work on the direct enrollment platform for brokers, the consumer marketplace, and ICHRA tooling, with a primary focus on shaping the broker experience.

Partnering closely with a Senior Product Designer, you will collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, research, data, and operational stakeholders. You'll guide features from discovery through delivery, ensuring a consistent, scalable, and intuitive experience across the entire Lucie suite. The ideal candidate has a strong visual design portfolio and a proven track record in designing complex intake systems, enrollment platforms, or CRM tooling. You are comfortable working autonomously from research to high-fidelity design, balancing execution speed with user empathy, and leveraging AI-assisted tools like Claude Code alongside Figma.

You will report to the Sr. Director, Product Design.

Responsibilities:

• Execute the design process with guidance on complex problems, considering long-term impact and near-term polish within a defined Oscar product area.
• Develop a deep understanding of users to inform product strategy and solutions.
• Collaborate closely with other product designers, product managers, marketers, brand designers, engineers, researchers, and other stakeholders.
• Employ hypothesis-driven research, prototyping, and launching experiments to generate actionable insights.
• Lead or contribute to workshops, vision activities, or presentations.
• Maintain a high quality bar for craft and interaction design, upholding our design systems.
• Translate the Oscar brand across product experiences.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in Product/UX Design.
• 2+ concrete examples of designing and shipping complex web and mobile interfaces.
• 2+ years managing stakeholders directly.

• Proficiency in storytelling techniques like animated prototypes or user flow diagrams.
• Interest in design ethics, accessibility, and healthcare-specific topics.

• Demonstrated design contributions across high-performing web, mobile, or internal tool products.
• Proven record of navigating technical constraints to deliver design solutions.
• Experience with user research and prototyping.
• Ability to translate requirements, goals, and research into simple and useful UI.

• Up to 5%

Pay Transparency:

• Base Pay: $123,372.00 - $161,925.75 per year.
