About the Role

Join HelloFresh as a Security Engineer and play a crucial role in maintaining our reputation as a trusted brand. We're looking for a passionate security professional eager to tackle new challenges and continuously improve our security posture. As the first point of contact for security-related inquiries, you will develop and deliver tools and processes to empower colleagues and achieve their goals.

Responsibilities

• Improve the application security function at HelloFresh to harden applications and services against abuse and malicious activity.
• Secure containers, CI/CD pipelines, and implement guardrails for developers aligned with DevSecOps principles.
• Conduct design, RFC, and code reviews.
• Mentor and train developers through the Security Champion program, fostering a shift-left approach.
• Develop practices and processes to enable secure scaling through automated workflows.

Requirements

• Proven proficiency in one modern scripting language (e.g., Python, Go).
• 2-3 years of experience in the security domain.
• Decent exposure to Terraform, Docker, container management services, CI/CD, and secrets management in microservices-based architectures.
• Experience in designing and implementing security controls specific to modern development and deployment stacks.
• Strong knowledge of agile methodologies and modern collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Slack).
• Enthusiasm and passion for security and automation.
• A skeptical, data-driven mindset that is eager to investigate challenges.

Work Environment

• Flexible Hybrid Approach: Minimum of 2 days in the office per week, with most teams in office 2-3 days a week. Offers flexibility for remote and in-office collaboration.
