About the Role

Animalz is seeking a Senior Content Marketer to join our SEO team. This is a writing-first role focused on producing high-quality SEO content for B2B technology clients. You will leverage strategic thinking to diagnose content performance, identify market opportunities, and translate data into actionable insights. Working closely with the Head of Content, you will own execution with a high degree of autonomy, manage a portfolio of customer accounts, and occasionally oversee freelance writers.

What You'll Do

  • Content Creation: Produce flagship blogs, guides, and landing pages requiring deep research, original thinking, and editorial craft, aligned with search intent and customer strategy.
  • AI Content Enhancement: Edit and elevate AI-generated content to publication quality, providing clear feedback to teammates and freelancers.
  • AI Workflow Collaboration: Partner with the AI implementation team to refine AI content workflows through editorial input, feedback, and testing.
  • AEO Contribution: Assist with AI-driven search initiatives, including prompt tracking, citation monitoring, and AEO audits.
  • Performance Diagnosis: Analyze content performance using technical SEO, competitive research, and quality assessments to identify and recommend improvements.
  • Content Optimization: Refresh and optimize existing content to enhance rankings, engagement, and visibility across traditional and AI-powered search.
  • AI Search Trends: Stay current with AI search tools (Perplexity, ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews) and factor emerging trends into content recommendations.
  • Account Management: Own end-to-end content execution for 3–4 customer accounts, managing quality, calendars, and deadlines independently.
  • Freelancer Oversight: Occasionally manage freelance writers, providing clear briefs, feedback, and quality control.
  • Reporting: Lead monthly performance reports for customers, communicating results, insights, and strategic recommendations.
  • Client Engagement: Participate in customer calls and build trusted relationships through clear communication and expertise.
  • Design Collaboration: Partner with design teams on visuals and graphics to support content deliverables.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to team knowledge sharing and internal process improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • 4–6 years of experience in content marketing, preferably in B2B SaaS or an agency setting.
  • Exceptional writing ability, producing publication-ready SEO content with minimal revisions and adapting to various brand voices.
  • Deep SEO knowledge: fluency in keyword research, on-page optimization, content audits, and competitive analysis.
  • Emerging AEO fluency: understanding of AI-driven discovery tools and hands-on skills in prompt tracking, citation monitoring, and AEO audits.
  • Comfort working with AI content workflows: ability to edit and elevate AI-generated content and provide input for workflow improvements.
  • Analytical mindset: ability to interpret performance data and inform content decisions.
  • Familiarity with content and analytics tools (e.g., GA4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Clearscope).
  • AI fluency: proficient use of AI tools to support workflows and stay current on best practices.
  • Technical curiosity: genuine interest in learning software products for authoritative writing.
  • Content operations skills: ability to manage multiple accounts and contributors while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong communication and remote collaboration skills.
  • Coachability and ownership: initiative, adaptability, and a drive for continuous improvement.

Your First 90 Days

  • Days 1–30: Onboarding, tool mastery, customer account deep dives, initial content creation, team and customer relationship building.
  • Days 31–60: Ownership of 2–3 customer accounts, freelance writer and calendar management, leading performance reports, contributing to team meetings.
  • Days 61–90: Full ownership of 3–4 customer accounts and reporting, leading strategy refinements, demonstrating measurable performance improvements, contributing to team development.

Working Arrangements

  • Location: Fully remote (AMERICAS or EMEA)
  • Timezone Requirements: At least 4 hours of overlap with US timezones (EST/PST).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $70,000 – $85,000 USD annually.
