About the Role & Team

Join our Expansion team in Melbourne as a Sales Development Representative and play a pivotal role in driving our next phase of growth. You will focus on generating revenue from our existing customer base by converting leads into product outcomes for current clients. This involves connecting with decision-makers at schools, understanding their challenges, and demonstrating how Compass can enhance their platform experience.

This role is ideal for individuals who excel at building relationships, thrive in the dynamic environment of outbound sales, and are motivated to make a significant impact in education. You'll need to hit the ground running, proactively gaining a deep understanding of our product, customers, and the value Compass delivers.

What You'll Do

Customer Engagement & Conversion

  • Engage existing Compass customers through outbound campaigns, identifying needs and articulating product value.
  • Actively monitor and achieve individual conversion performance against targets.
  • Utilize active listening to understand customer goals and challenges, providing high-quality advice and solutions.
  • Consistently deliver exceptional customer experiences and identify growth opportunities.

Sales Expertise & Product Knowledge

  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of all Compass modules, effectively communicating features and benefits.
  • Stay updated on outbound campaign development processes and refine sales techniques.
  • Contribute to team success by sharing common customer queries, challenges, and key insights.

Team & Operational Excellence

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to build synergies across sales teams and drive customer outcomes.
  • Accurately capture activity status and own the end-to-end customer experience.
  • Proactively capture and share feedback to enable continuous improvement of campaigns.

About You

You are energetic, driven, and curious, with a passion for outbound sales and a motivation for growth, performance, and continuous improvement.

You Bring:

  • 1+ years of experience in a sales or outbound contact center environment.
  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets in a performance-driven environment.
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
  • Resilience and a positive mindset for navigating objections and maintaining momentum.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work until 8 PM on occasion to support campaign activity.

Highly Regarded:

  • Experience using a CRM or sales tool (HubSpot preferred).
  • A tertiary qualification in business, communications, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in EdTech, SaaS, or a high-growth scale-up environment.
