About the Role

Trility Consulting is seeking a Principal DevSecOps Consultant for a focused, 6-week remote engagement (with potential for extension) to establish secure secrets management patterns, enhance application security, and define repeatable DevSecOps standards within a modern Azure environment. You will act as a trusted advisor and hands-on technical leader, partnering with engineering and architecture teams to assess current practices, identify gaps, design future-state patterns, and implement foundational security controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess current application security, secrets management, and DevSecOps practices to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Design and implement repeatable secrets management patterns using Azure Key Vault and Managed Identities.
• Develop and implement a secure Python-based framework for standardized secrets handling.
• Provide architectural guidance for integrating secure secrets management across Python, .NET, SQL Server, and other application workloads.
• Establish DevSecOps standards for pipeline security, secret scanning, deployment controls, and secure software delivery.
• Analyze logs to troubleshoot deployment, networking, authentication, and security issues.
• Evaluate SDLC processes and recommend security, governance, and operational improvements.
• Collaborate with leadership to define practical implementation roadmaps and future-state architecture.
• Create architecture documentation, implementation guidance, standards, and reusable playbooks.
• Demonstrate implemented solutions and coach internal engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevSecOps, Cloud Architecture, Application Security, or Platform Engineering.
• Strong experience designing and implementing enterprise secrets management solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Key Vault, Managed Identities, and Azure-native security patterns.
• Strong Azure architecture experience, including secure application integration and cloud security best practices.
• Experience designing and implementing secure application development and deployment patterns.
• Strong Python development experience with a focus on security frameworks.
• Working knowledge of .NET application architectures and secure integration.
• Experience designing and implementing DevSecOps controls within CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and modern source control/deployment practices.
• Experience implementing secret scanning and secure deployment controls.
• Experience troubleshooting complex cloud-native application issues.
• Ability to assess environments, identify gaps, and develop remediation plans.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• Modernizing DevSecOps from Azure DevOps to GitHub-based workflows.
• Working in highly regulated or security-sensitive environments.
• Familiarity with application security assessment methodologies.
• Experience creating enterprise architecture standards and technical playbooks.
• Experience leading security transformation consulting engagements.
