About the Role

Ridgeline is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to create best-in-class product documentation and content experiences that empower users from novice to mastery. Reporting to the Director of Technical Documentation and Content Experience, you will collaborate closely with writers, product managers, and engineers to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accurate, and engaging content. This is a hybrid role based in our San Ramon, CA office, requiring at least three days onsite per week.

Impact You Will Have

• Create user-focused product documentation, including user guides, release notes, API references, UI text, and in-app guidance.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to document new features and improve existing content.
• Utilize structured authoring and topic-based writing principles for consistency and reuse.
• Adhere to and contribute to refining style guides, content standards, and documentation processes.
• Deliver content aligned with internal models and tools, supporting documentation priorities.

What We Look For

• 5+ years of experience as a technical writer specializing in software product documentation and content design, preferably in SaaS or enterprise software.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
• Experience writing end-user facing content and UI text for business or consumer applications.
• Proven experience with topic-based authoring, DITA, and XML-structured authoring.
• Hands-on experience with CCMS platforms and XML-based authoring systems (e.g., Heretto).
• Familiarity with AI systems and their application in content management is a plus.
• Knowledge of GSuite, Git/GitHub, Confluence, Zendesk, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with accessibility and localization standards.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Bonus Points

• Experience in the Fintech industry or with successful software startups.
• Familiarity with programming languages like Python, Kotlin, or JavaScript.
• Experience with API documentation tools (Swagger, Postman) and understanding of REST APIs.
• Knowledge of Agile and Continuous Delivery practices.
• Basic proficiency in front-end web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary Range: $128,000 - $159,500 annually.
