About the Role

PJMF is building an AI-powered intelligence layer for modern philanthropy. We are seeking a self-driven Junior DevOps Engineer to contribute to the development, deployment, and maintenance of our data and AI products. This early-career, growth-oriented role involves maintaining cloud infrastructure (AWS), contributing to full-stack applications (Go, Python, JavaScript, React), building CI/CD pipelines, supporting our Docker-based deployment platform, and implementing observability tools. You will also work directly with nonprofit partners, helping them adopt our tools. This is an opportunity to gain foundational experience in cloud infrastructure, automation, and deployment systems under the guidance of senior engineers.

How You’ll Make An Impact:

• Cloud Infrastructure & Operations: Maintain and improve AWS environments using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), including VPC, IAM, secrets management, logging, backups, and cost controls.
• Application Development: Write frontend and backend production code for shared platform services and internal tooling using Go, Python, JavaScript, and React.
• CI/CD & Automation: Contribute to deployment pipelines (GitHub Actions), automating testing, container builds, releases, and operational workflows.
• Containerization & Platform Support: Support the Docker-based deployment platform, including build workflows, deployment strategies, and autoscaling.
• Observability & Incident Response: Implement and maintain metrics, centralized logging, alerting, and dashboards; participate in incident response.
• Developer Experience: Build and maintain internal documentation and tooling.
• Partner Collaboration: Work directly with nonprofit partners to support tool adoption, translate technical concepts, and gather feedback.

What You Need to Be Successful:

• Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a DevOps, infrastructure, or full-stack engineering role.
• Programming: Working proficiency in Python or Go is strongly preferred; experience contributing to production codebases is a plus.
• Cloud Experience: Hands-on experience deploying or supporting production systems on AWS or a comparable cloud platform.
• Pipeline Experience: Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions), source control (GitHub), and issue tracking (Jira).
• Infrastructure: Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL); exposure to containerization (Docker) and IaC (e.g., Terraform) is expected.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a small, virtual, fast-moving team; clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Work Eligibility: Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship available).

Valued Exposure:

• Observability experience (monitoring, logging, alerting).
• Basic understanding of networking, system reliability, and security fundamentals.
• Interest in cloud cost management and system efficiency.
