About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Product Design Consultant on a contract basis to lead exciting strategic projects focused on supporting parents and families. This role involves taking projects from concept through polished, build-ready design, with a primary focus on software, though experience with connected/physical products is a strong plus.

You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Clinical, and Marketing teams to bring innovative solutions to market under tight deadlines.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Design and deliver specific product features and flows, from initial concepts to detailed build-ready specifications.
• Produce high-craft interaction and visual design for both iOS and Android mobile experiences.
• Work within Nanit's existing design system, utilizing and extending established components and patterns.
• Navigate connected product flows, including device pairing and synchronization.
• Partner closely with engineers and Product Managers to refine designs and support implementation.
• Clearly communicate design decisions and incorporate feedback to maintain project momentum.

Who You Are:

• Experience: 7+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio of shipped consumer tech work.
• Craft: Excellent hands-on craft in mobile design (iOS/Android) with sophisticated interaction and visual design skills.
• Focus: Software-first designer; experience in connected/IoT products, consumer hardware, medical devices, or healthcare products is a strong plus.
• Design System: Comfortable working within an established design system.
• Tools: Highly proficient in Figma.
• Autonomy: Self-directed and quick to ramp up, able to manage projects with minimal oversight and deliver on schedule.
• Collaboration: Strong communicator adept at collaborating with Product and Engineering partners.
• AI Tools: Comfortable using AI tools to accelerate workflows and explore ideas.
• Passion: Genuine interest in improving the lives of parents and babies through thoughtful design.

Engagement Details:

• Type: Contract, project-based engagement.
• Duration: 3-6 months.
• Role: Individual contributor; no direct reports or strategy ownership.
• Location: Hybrid - 2 days per week in office (Tribeca).
• Rate: $90-$95 per hour, commensurate with experience.
