The Role: Director of Earned & Owned Strategy
This individual contributor role reports to the Senior Director, Earned & Owned Strategy. You will lead integrated Earned & Owned programs, focusing on SEO, Content Marketing, and strategic initiatives to strengthen client visibility and drive measurable growth, particularly within AI-driven search landscapes. You will act as an executive strategic lead on key accounts, accountable for client success.
What You Will Do:
Leading Enterprise Client Strategy & Growth:
- Act as the executive strategic lead on key accounts, accountable for client success.
- Develop integrated earned strategy plans that combine SEO, Local SEO, Content Marketing, AI Search, and Digital Experience, providing strategic direction to channel managers.
- Translate complex business objectives into actionable roadmaps that drive measurable performance outcomes.
- Lead local strategy initiatives, including local discoverability, Google Business Profile optimization strategy, and localized content frameworks.
Driving AI-Era Search Leadership:
- Oversee strategic frameworks for AI Search readiness, ensuring content and technical foundations are optimized for emerging search experiences.
- Integrate AI-driven insights into forecasting, prioritization, and creative planning across Earned channels.
Collaborating Across Teams:
- Partner with client and internal channel and analytics teams to enhance operational workflows and reporting automation.
- Lead cross-functional planning across key content activations.
- Provide executive-level oversight of campaign ideation, launch, and measurement to maintain excellence in execution.
Accelerating Growth:
- Identify and capture new organic growth opportunities across search and local search ecosystems.
- Support business development through executive-level presentations, thought leadership, strategic consulting, and expansion opportunities across existing and prospective accounts.
What You Must Have:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience leading Earned & Owned Media programs across SEO, Content, Local SEO, or adjacent digital channels in an agency client-facing role (preferred) and/or brand-side organization.
- Experience managing integrated digital marketing campaigns that leverage cross-channel insights and collaboration.
- Working experience with Web Analytics and SEMrush or similar SEO platforms.
- Proven success managing large-scale, enterprise search and content transformation initiatives.
- Deep understanding of AI Search evolution and organic discoverability trends.
- Excellent time and project management skills, with the ability to identify, prioritize, and respond to situations rapidly.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to unify teams across channels.
- Exceptional presentation and executive communication skills; confident advising senior client leadership.
Location:
- Remote-first culture.
- Work from anywhere options* (most states within the US, with some exclusions).
- Office hubs available in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York for optional collaboration and events.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $118,000 - $130,000 annually (anticipated base pay).
- Bonus: Annual performance bonus component (not guaranteed, based on company, department, and individual performance).
