Meta is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive industry experience working on a diverse range of classification and optimization problems, such as payment fraud detection, click-through rate prediction, click-fraud detection, search ranking algorithms, text/sentiment classification, collaborative filtering/recommendation systems, or spam detection. This position involves taking these advanced skills and applying them to some of the most exciting and massive social data and prediction challenges that exist on the web today.

• Understand industry and company-wide trends to help assess and develop innovative new technologies.

• Identify new opportunities for the larger organization and influence appropriate stakeholders for staffing and prioritizing these new ideas.
• Suggest, collect, and synthesize requirements, then create an effective feature roadmap.
• Develop highly scalable classifiers and sophisticated tools leveraging machine learning, data regression, and rules-based models.
• Adapt standard machine learning methods to best exploit modern parallel environments, including distributed clusters, multicore SMP, and GPU architectures.

🛠️ Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading projects with industry-wide impact.
• Proven experience communicating and working effectively across functions to drive solutions.
• Experience in mentoring and influencing engineers across organizations.
• A proven track record of planning multi-year roadmaps in which short-term projects align with and contribute to the long-term vision.
• Extensive experience in driving large cross-functional and/or industry-wide engineering efforts.
• 12+ years of experience in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java, coupled with a strong technical background.
• 8+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: machine learning, recommendation systems, pattern recognition, data mining, or deep learning based methods.
• Experience in shipping products to millions of customers or successfully launching a new line of products.
